NSCDC JAMB collaboration aims to secure 2026 UTME registration in Anambra, curb examination malpractice, and protect candidates from extortion

The Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Anambra Command, has announced efforts to strengthen collaboration with the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) to ensure a smooth and secure registration exercise for the 2026 UTME.

Commandant Maku Olatunde stated in an interview on Saturday in Awka that the command is putting measures in place to safeguard the integrity of the examination and ensure candidates’ results reflect their true abilities.

“The command is working towards strengthening the bond of synergy and collaboration with JAMB for a smooth JAMB registration exercise and examination,” Olatunde said.

He added that the command is committed to preventing examination malpractice and curbing extortion attempts targeting prospective candidates.

The NSCDC’s preparations include deploying personnel to registration centres across Anambra to secure facilities and protect candidates from touts.

The commandant emphasised that checks and balance systems will be enforced throughout the process to maintain order and transparency.

Olatunde noted that the initiative follows a courtesy visit from the Anambra State JAMB Coordinator, Dr Ifunanya Obiano, at the NSCDC State Command Headquarters.

The visit aimed to strengthen collaboration between the two agencies and promote an examination environment that fosters integrity and accountability.

“The synergy between NSCDC and JAMB has yielded positive results in curbing examination malpractice in the past,” he said, adding that the command remains open to collaboration with other institutions or organisations that require its services to uphold social order.

The commandant reassured prospective candidates, the JAMB coordinator, and the public that all necessary arrangements have been made to conduct the 2026 UTME registration in a serene and orderly environment.

He also encouraged ongoing cooperation from candidates and the general public to ensure the success of the exercise.
