Odumodublvck Slams NFF as Nigeria’s hopes of reaching the 2026 FIFA World Cup hang by a thread following the Super Eagles’ 1-1 draw with South Africa.

The award-winning rapper, whose real name is Tochukwu Ojogwu, joined thousands of frustrated fans on X to lambast the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF). He described the body as “a terrible organisation” that has robbed Nigerians of one of the few joys they hold dear.

“NFF is a terrible organisation. Back-to-back World Cups. It’s a total disgrace. It’s wicked people that fill this country up, I swear. The one thing that gives your people joy, you are making them suffer, you are bad people,” he wrote.

Nigeria’s draw in Bloemfontein left them third in Group C on 11 points, six behind leaders South Africa, with just two fixtures left.

That scenario means the Super Eagles are staring at the prospect of missing consecutive World Cups for the first time in history, after failing to qualify for Qatar 2022.

Other fans echoed Odumodublvck’s outrage. User Inioluwa Nuel lamented that players like Victor Osimhen and Ademola Lookman could miss their prime years without ever playing at the tournament, while @AJSilverCFC sarcastically “applauded” the NFF for its handling of the qualifiers, calling it an “utter disgrace.”

Some users broadened the debate. Okafor Nwa urged a long-term rebuild, insisting the failure reflected deeper systemic flaws in Nigerian football, while @iDanDizzy compared blaming the players instead of the NFF to Nigerians blaming themselves rather than corrupt leaders for the nation’s problems.

Criticism also centered on the federation’s poor management. Fans pointed to late payments, lack of preparation, and questionable coaching appointments — from Jose Peseiro to Finidi George and current boss Eric Chelle — as evidence of institutional failure.

The most extreme response came from @nuradeeeen, who called for the NFF chairman’s arrest and even demolition of the federation’s headquarters.

The Super Eagles’ qualification campaign has been riddled with instability, including costly home draws against Lesotho, Zimbabwe, and South Africa.

With only matches against Lesotho and Benin Republic remaining, Nigeria must win both and hope South Africa falters to keep their World Cup dream alive.
