The injury is a potential blow for Manchester City, who face Manchester United at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday in a crucial Premier League clash.

Both teams are under pressure following shaky starts to the season, and missing a key forward like Marmoush could impact City’s attacking options.

Since his £59 million move from Eintracht Frankfurt in January, Marmoush has impressed with eight goals in 28 appearances across all competitions, becoming an important figure in Pep Guardiola’s side.
