The 33-year-old midfielder has signed a deal that will keep him at Wolfsburg until 2027, marking the next chapter in a remarkable career that has already seen him feature for Ajax, Tottenham, Inter Milan, Brentford, and Manchester United.

“I’m really looking forward to this new adventure. I’m convinced that together we can make a difference in Wolfsburg,” Eriksen said in a club statement late Wednesday.

Eriksen has been a free agent since leaving United this summer.

Though he began brightly under Erik ten Hag after joining in 2022, his role diminished over time—first under Ten Hag and later more so under new manager Ruben Amorim.

The Christian Eriksen Wolfsburg Transfer also sees him join a growing Danish contingent at the German club.

He becomes the sixth Dane in the squad, linking up with Joakim Maehle, Jesper Lindstrom, Andreas Skov Olsen, Jonas Wind, and Adam Daghim.

This move is especially poignant given Eriksen’s well-documented return to football after suffering a cardiac arrest at Euro 2021.

After receiving an implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD), he was forced to leave Inter Milan due to Italian regulations but resumed his career with Brentford before earning a move to Manchester United.

With 144 caps and 46 international goals, Eriksen remains a key figure for Denmark and brings valuable experience to a Wolfsburg side aiming to strengthen its midfield creativity and leadership.
