Krösche said Onyedika’s ability to deliver reliable performances over several seasons was among the main reasons Frankfurt moved to secure his services.

“Raphael Onyedika impresses us not only with his robustness and strategic understanding of the game, but above all with his exceptional consistency,” Krösche said in a statement published by the club.

“He has been a regular starter for several years and has celebrated numerous titles in Belgium.”

The Frankfurt sporting director also pointed to Onyedika’s room for further improvement, describing the midfielder as an important part of the club’s future plans.

“At 25 years old, he still has great potential for development and is also an important building block for the structure of our squad,” Krösche added.

Onyedika arrives in Germany after an impressive period at Club Brugge, where he established himself as a dependable midfield presence and won two Belgian league titles, the Belgian Cup and the Belgian Super Cup.

Before his move to Belgium, the Nigerian international enjoyed success with Danish club FC Midtjylland, where he won the Danish Cup and developed into one of the country’s promising midfield talents.

The transfer represents a significant career milestone for Onyedika as he prepares for his first Bundesliga campaign and a new challenge in one of Europe’s most competitive leagues.

Frankfurt’s decision to invest in the midfielder reflects the club’s strategy of combining established performers with players who still have the capacity to grow.

The Nigerian’s physical strength, defensive awareness and ability to contribute across midfield are expected to complement the team’s playing style.

The move also continues the growing presence of Nigerian players at Eintracht Frankfurt, with Onyedika becoming another Super Eagles representative to feature for the German club.
