EFCC arrests 55 suspected Ogun internet fraudsters at K Hotel, recovers two locally made guns, luxury cars, 89 phones, laptops, and documents

The Ogun internet fraudsters arrest by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has led to the recovery of two locally made guns and other valuables from 55 suspects apprehended during a sting operation in Itori, Ewekoro Local Government Area.

Operatives from EFCC’s Ibadan Zonal Directorate raided K Hotel on Wednesday after receiving credible intelligence on alleged online scams.

EFCC spokesperson Dele Oyewale said items recovered include six exotic cars, a motorcycle, multiple laptops, incriminating documents, and 89 unclaimed mobile phones.

The suspects, whose names were released by the agency, also had in their possession several other mobile devices and luxury items suspected to be proceeds of crime.

“They have given useful information to the Commission and will be charged to court soon,” the EFCC stated.

The arrest underscores EFCC’s intensified crackdown on cybercrime and illegal arms possession, following recent intelligence-led operations across the country.
