Olofin of Isheri donates High Court to the Ogun State Government, reaffirming his commitment to community development and access to justice.

The traditional ruler, Oba Sulaiman Bamgbade, Ayodele III, handed over the newly built Isheri High Court during an official ceremony, describing the move as part of a broader effort to strengthen the state’s judicial infrastructure.

The monarch explained that the court, constructed and funded solely by the palace, is aimed at reducing the burden on existing courts and eliminating the long travel distances residents previously endured to access justice in towns like Itori and Ifo.

“Justice and healthcare are the twin pillars of a thriving society,” Oba Bamgbade said.

“By handing over the Isheri High Court to the Ogun State Judiciary, we are ensuring that our people receive quicker, fairer access to justice, right here in their community.”

As part of events marking his 4th coronation anniversary, the Olofin also commissioned a 20-bed Renewed Hope Primary Healthcare Centre (PHC) to serve the people of Isheri Olofin.

The facility is expected to provide affordable, grassroots-level medical care, particularly for women, children, and the elderly.

The monarch stressed that primary healthcare is the foundation of any effective health system, adding that access to quality healthcare within the community will reduce avoidable deaths and ease the pressure on overstretched tertiary hospitals.

“With the commissioning of this PHC, we are prioritising health and well-being. Our people no longer need to travel far for basic medical attention. A healthy community is a prosperous one,” he said.

The dual unveiling drew attendance from key figures including:

•  Ogun State First Lady, Mrs. Bamidele Abiodun
•  Chief Judge of Ogun State, Justice Mosunmola Dipeolu
•  Presidential aide on SDGs, Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire
•  Ogun State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Tomi Coker
•  Members of the National and State Assemblies
•  Numerous traditional rulers and community leaders

The Olofin also used the opportunity to appeal to federal and state governments to support cultural heritage projects, with the aim of transforming Isheri Olofin into a tourism and economic hub, deeply rooted in Awori history.
