Public Relations Officer Olayinka Ayanlade said the arrests followed a complaint by one Abdullahi, whose ranch was allegedly stormed by armed men who rustled his cattle and attacked him and his son with machetes.

“In their attempt to prevent the criminals from escaping, he and his son were brutally macheted, prompting an immediate call for police intervention,” Ayanlade said.

The PPRO explained that operatives, using intelligence-led policing and advanced technology, traced and apprehended the suspects.

Recovered items included the rustled cattle, the vehicle used during the operation, the complainant’s stolen motorcycle, and weapons used by the attackers.

Ayanlade added that Ondo State Police Commissioner Adebowale Lawal commended the officers for the successful operation and assured residents of continued security, particularly during the yuletide period.

“CP Lawal has directed all DPOs and tactical commanders to remain fully alert, ensuring robust security coverage across all areas throughout this period and beyond,” he said.

The command urged residents to cooperate with security agencies, remain vigilant, and promptly report suspicious activities to maintain a safer community.
