His dazzling performances and consistency convinced voters to hand him football’s most prestigious individual honour.

Spain and Barcelona star Aitana Bonmati made history by clinching the Women’s Ballon d’Or for the third successive year, adding to her 2023 and 2024 victories.

Other winners on the night included PSG, who were named Men’s Club of the Year, while Arsenal Women claimed the Women’s Club of the Year title.

Italy’s Gianluigi Donnarumma earned the Men’s Yachine Trophy, with England’s Hannah Hampton receiving the Women’s equivalent.

Viktor Gyökeres and Ewa Pajor were awarded the Gerd Muller Trophies for their prolific goalscoring, while Spain’s Vicky Lopez and Lamine Yamal picked up the Women’s and Men’s Kopa Trophies respectively.

The Johan Cruyff Trophies went to Spain manager Luis Enrique in the men’s category and Sarina Wiegman for the women’s game, underscoring their managerial brilliance.
