Iwobi, who scored the equaliser and assisted the winning goal, produced a man-of-the-match display that inspired Fulham’s first back-to-back Premier League wins since February.

His performance drew glowing praise from the Premier League Productions punditry panel, with Berbatov and Hoddle singling him out for special recognition.

“From the moment the ball reached Iwobi’s feet—what a pass, unbelievable,” Berbatov said. “A world-class pass, and the finish was on the same level.”

Hoddle, former England manager, echoed the sentiment, describing Iwobi’s assist for Harry Wilson’s goal as “beautiful” and a mark of a player at the peak of his powers.

“There’s a hole there, a gap to Wilson, and what a finish. Lovely ball from Iwobi. He’s probably playing the best football of his career at the moment,” Hoddle said.

Brentford had taken an early lead through Mikkel Damsgaard, who capitalised on a defensive error to put the visitors ahead.

But Fulham responded with conviction, driven by Iwobi’s creativity and composure under pressure.

The breakthrough came when Iwobi calmly converted a first-time finish to bring the home side level. Minutes later, he turned provider with a perfectly timed pass to Wilson, who rifled home the second.

Ethan Pinnock’s unfortunate own goal, as he turned in Ryan Sessegnon’s cross, sealed the result and lifted Fulham to seventh place in the Premier League table.

Rodrigo Muniz appeared to have added a fourth late on, but the goal was ruled out by VAR for offside.
