Saudi Pro League side Al Ahli targets Nigerian striker Paul Onuachu after 17 goals in 20 games for Trabzonspor this season

Super Eagles striker Paul Onuachu has reportedly become a prime target for Saudi Pro League club Al Ahli, following his sensational scoring form for Turkish Süper Lig side Trabzonspor.

According to reports by Fichajes via OwnGoalNigeria, the Jeddah-based club plans a substantial bid to secure Onuachu ahead of the summer transfer window.

The 31-year-old Nigerian forward has netted 17 goals in 20 league appearances this season, including scoring in six consecutive matches, topping the Süper Lig scoring charts.

Al Ahli are reportedly seeking a tactical replacement for England international Ivan Toney, with Onuachu’s 2.01m frame and aerial dominance matching the physical style required in the Saudi top flight.

Sources indicate the Nigerian striker is open to the move, with a potential salary package reportedly three times his current earnings at Trabzonspor.

Any transfer, however, will depend on Trabzonspor’s approval, as Onuachu is contracted until June 2028.

Fresh from helping Nigeria secure bronze at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, Onuachu is also expected to lead the Super Eagles’ attack in the upcoming Four-Nation Invitational Tournament in Amman, Jordan, where they will face Iran and the host nation in March.
