Durosinmi ties the knot after Super Eagles departure as Nigerian striker marry Praise Nwanegbo after Poland friendly international duty

Nigerian striker Rafiu Durosinmi, professional footballer and Super Eagles forward, has married his long-time partner Praise Nwanegbo after leaving the national team camp following Nigeria’s 2-2 international friendly draw against Poland.

Rafiu Durosinmi wedding after national team exit came shortly after the forward featured for Nigeria in Warsaw, where he played 45 minutes and earned his third senior cap before departing the squad to attend his wedding ceremony.

Durosinmi’s departure marked an early end to his involvement in the current international window, with the striker leaving the camp as Nigeria continued their preparations for upcoming fixtures in Portugal.

The 23-year-old forward had initially been named in the squad for the Unity Cup in London but remained with the team for the Poland trip after several senior players, including Victor Osimhen and Ademola Lookman, withdrew from the squad.

Despite the reshuffle, Durosinmi featured prominently during the international window, making his first start against Poland before returning home for his wedding celebrations.

His absence meant he did not travel with the rest of the squad to Portugal, where preparations are expected to continue under head coach Eric Chelle.

Durosinmi has been one of the emerging talents given opportunities during recent national team assignments, having made his senior debut against Zimbabwe during the Unity Cup in London, where he came off the bench in a 2-0 victory.

He later earned a starting role in the Unity Cup final against Jamaica, partnering captain Terem Moffi in attack as Nigeria secured a commanding 3-0 win to lift the trophy.
