Wayne Rooney backs Arsenal to secure the Premier League title, citing their strong defence and efficiency despite Carabao Cup final defeat

Former England striker Wayne Rooney has tipped Arsenal to clinch the Premier League title this season, despite their recent defeat to Manchester City in the Carabao Cup final.

Speaking on his BBC podcast, Rooney argued that Arsenal’s nine-point lead at the top of the table, coupled with their efficient play and defensive solidity, gives them a significant advantage over Manchester City.

“For Manchester City to catch Arsenal, they probably have to win every game and see Arsenal drop seven points. That is a tough task,” Rooney said.

“I am sure Arsenal will go back to winning games and see the Premier League title out. They are too good, too efficient, and too strong defensively to let it slip from here.”
