Valencia forward Sadiq Umar has sparked concern over his international future after revealing he is considering retirement from the Super Eagles of Nigeria.

The striker made the disclosure during an interview with Radio France International Hausa, stating that no final decision has been taken but confirming that he is actively reflecting on his national team career.

“I am contemplating retirement from the Nigerian national team, but I will finalize my decision when the new season starts,” he said.

“I was not selected. Perhaps my profile does not align with their needs,” he said, noting the depth of quality available to the national team.
