Sporting Lagos head into the encounter sitting top of the playoff standings after a commanding 4-0 victory over Doma United on Wednesday, a result that strengthened their push for the championship.

Lagos-based side have collected six points from two matches so far, having earlier begun their campaign with a narrow 1-0 win over Ranchers Bees, placing them in a strong position ahead of the final fixture.

A single point against Inter Lagos will be enough to secure the NNL title, marking a significant achievement in what has been a highly competitive playoff series.

Inter Lagos, however, revived their hopes with a crucial 2-0 win over Ranchers Bees on Wednesday, keeping them mathematically in contention ahead of the derby clash.

Both Inter Lagos and Doma United currently sit on three points each, while Ranchers Bees remain without a point in the standings.

The upcoming fixture is expected to deliver a tense and high intensity Lagos derby atmosphere, with pride and silverware on the line as both sides battle for supremacy in Nigeria’s second tier football competition.
