Tinubu approves construction of 600-capacity hostels for Nigerian Law School Abuja students, alongside a new road to ease traffic in the FCT

Tinubu approves Nigerian Law School hostels with the directive to immediately commence construction of two 300-capacity hostels for students at the Abuja campus.

The announcement was made on Tuesday by Lere Olayinka, Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media to the FCT Minister.

The move aims to tackle the ongoing accommodation challenges faced by Nigerian Law School students.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has instructed the Federal Capital Territory Minister, Nyesom Wike, to prioritise the project and expedite its execution.

The hostels will consist of one 300-capacity female and one 300-capacity male facility, constructed under emergency consideration to fast-track the response to student housing needs.

This development complements earlier efforts by Minister Wike, who last year initiated the design and construction of an annexe office for the Body of Benchers and ten four-bedroom bungalows for staff accommodation.

Wike had also donated vehicles to support the institution and promised to include the hostel projects in the 2025 FCT budget.

In addition to the hostels, Tinubu has approved the construction of a road linking the Body of Benchers Secretariat in Jabi District with Nile University.

This road is expected to alleviate traffic congestion leading to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission’s head office, improving accessibility in the area.
