Tinubu congratulates Ibrahim Shema at 68, praising his legacy of discipline, patriotism, and contributions to infrastructure and education in Katsina State

Tinubu praises Ibrahim Shema as the former Governor of Katsina State marks his 68th birthday, describing him as a statesman with an enduring legacy of financial discipline and visionary leadership.

In a statement issued on Monday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu hailed Shema’s two-term tenure (2007–2015) as a period marked by significant human and infrastructural development.

“President Tinubu joins family and friends to celebrate the visionary leader, whose legacy of statesmanship and financial discipline remains a reference in the country,” the statement read.

He commended Shema’s patriotism and contributions across sectors in Katsina, including the establishment of new secondary schools, girl-child primary institutions, Almajiri model schools, ICT centres, and a 250-bed specialist hospital.

The President acknowledged Shema’s role in raising governance standards and applauded his continued service to the nation as Chairman of the Governing Board of the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency.

Tinubu concluded by praying that Almighty God grant the former governor many more years of good health and service to the nation.

Born in Dutsin-Ma, Katsina State on 22 September 1957, Ibrahim Shema remains a respected figure in Nigerian politics and public service.
