Union Bank marks World Environment Day with a powerful initiative aimed at combating plastic pollution in Nigeria.

In partnership with the Nigerian Conservation Foundation, the bank hosted a symposium themed “Ending Plastic Pollution” at the Lekki Conservation Centre, Lagos.

The event convened environmental experts, corporate leaders, and stakeholders committed to finding sustainable solutions to plastic waste.

The bank reaffirmed its position as a leader in corporate social responsibility and environmental advocacy.

Union Bank’s Chief Brand and Marketing Officer, Olufunmilola Aluko, emphasised the bank’s ongoing commitment to sustainability.

“At Union Bank, sustainability goes beyond banking. We are dedicated to empowering communities with knowledge and resources, like recycling initiatives to tackle plastic pollution and rejuvenate our environment,” she said.

The bank extended its impact by reaching out to secondary schools in Lagos, donating recycling bins and raising awareness about environmental preservation.

The initiative aimed to instil eco-conscious habits among young Nigerians.
