Victor Osimhen brace powers Galatasaray to a 3-1 Champions League win over Bodø/Glimt, marking back-to-back European victories for the Turkish side

Victor Osimhen brace led Galatasaray to a commanding 3-1 victory over Bodø/Glimt in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday, marking back-to-back European triumphs for the Turkish champions and underlining the Nigerian striker’s prolific form.

The atmosphere at RamsPark was electric from the opening whistle, and the fans didn’t have to wait long to celebrate. Just three minutes in, Mario Lemina found Osimhen, who clinically slotted past Nikita Haikin to open the scoring.

Galatasaray pressed relentlessly, with Osimhen’s energy and movement causing constant panic in the Norwegian defence.

The forward twice went close with headers from Leroy Sané’s crosses, forcing sharp saves from Haikin. Bodø/Glimt began to enjoy brief spells of possession midway through the first half, but Uğurcan Çakır remained largely untested.

Osimhen’s determination paid off again in the 33rd minute. A poor backpass from Fredrik André Bjørkan allowed the striker to pounce, round the goalkeeper, and calmly roll the ball into the net—sending the home fans into raptures.

Bodø/Glimt’s best moments came before the break, with Sondre Brunstad Fet striking the post after Jens Petter Hauge had gone close. The visitors resumed the second half with renewed purpose, but their efforts were swiftly punished.

When Haitam Aleesami lost possession near his own box, Osimhen seized the opportunity, setting up Yunus Akgün to score at the second attempt and make it 3-0.

Bodø/Glimt finally found a consolation in the 76th minute through Andreas Helmersen’s header, but the outcome was never in doubt.

The result extended Galatasaray’s fine domestic and European run—21 wins from their last 23 matches—while ending Bodø/Glimt’s five-game unbeaten streak in European competition.

The 26-year-old Super Eagles forward also set a new club milestone, surpassing Burak Yilmaz’s record of scoring in six consecutive European matches.

Osimhen’s brace means he now stands alone as Galatasaray’s most consistent European scorer.

Having netted against Tottenham Hotspur, AZ Alkmaar, Dynamo Kiev, Ajax, and Liverpool in previous continental outings, Osimhen’s latest feat strengthens his growing legend in Istanbul.
