Despite massive offers from Saudi Arabian clubs and top-tier European teams, the 26-year-old opted for a return to Istanbul, choosing passion and stability over prestige and paycheck.

Galatasaray will now pay the full €75 million release clause to Napoli within a year, finalizing one of the most powerful signings in Turkish football history.

Osimhen spent last season on loan at Galatasaray, quickly becoming a fan favorite for his pace, power, and clinical finishing. His return is not only a sporting boost but also a statement of intent from the Süper Lig champions.

Interestingly, this is not Osimhen’s highest transfer fee. Napoli initially signed him from Lille for a record €78.9 million in the 2020/2021 season a move that still holds as the most expensive for a Nigerian player.

Following Osimhen on the all-time list is Alex Iwobi, whose €30.4 million transfer from Arsenal to Everton remains the second-highest Nigerian transfer.

Others include Kelechi Iheanacho (€27.7M), another Iwobi move to Fulham (€25.7M), and Odion Ighalo (€23.3M) when he moved from Watford.
