Victoria Samson UNIOSUN Chancellor appointment formally presented as BOVAS boss pledges support for the university

The management of Osun State University on Thursday officially presented the instrument of appointment to the Group Managing Director of BOVAS & Company Ltd, Victoria Samson, as the new Chancellor of the institution.

The Vice-Chancellor of the university, Odunayo Adeboye, presented the appointment letter to Samson in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, on behalf of the Osun State Government and the university’s Governing Council.

Adeboye said the appointment reflected Samson’s achievements in business leadership, philanthropy and contributions to national development.

“The institution and the state government are optimistic that Mama Samson’s leadership and experience would further strengthen the university’s global relevance and academic advancement,” he said.

Reading the appointment letter signed by Ademola Adeleke, the Vice-Chancellor disclosed that the appointment took effect from May 10, 2026, for an initial five-year term.

Victoria Samson UNIOSUN Chancellor appointment, according to the university, was based on her accomplishments in business, humanitarian service and commitment to national growth.

The appointment letter stated that Samson would serve as the ceremonial head of the university while providing strategic, moral and inspirational support towards achieving the institution’s vision.

Adeboye also revealed that the university would soon announce the date for her formal investiture ceremony as Chancellor.

The Vice-Chancellor commended Governor Adeleke for promoting merit and competence in appointments within the institution and across the state.

He noted that the governor had consistently encouraged the university management to appoint individuals capable of contributing meaningfully to institutional growth without political interference.

Responding to the appointment, Samson expressed appreciation to the state government, the Governing Council and the university management for the confidence reposed in her.

“I thank the governor, the governing council and the university management for this honour. I appreciate the confidence reposed in me,” she said.

Samson pledged to support the continued growth and development of the university during her tenure as Chancellor.
