The 30-year-old forward reunites with manager Nuno Espirito Santo at the London Stadium, having previously worked under him at Wolverhampton Wanderers.

West Ham described Traore as “strong, quick and able to create and score goals,” adding that he would provide a fresh attacking option in their fight against relegation.

Traore, who progressed through Barcelona’s youth system and has featured for Aston Villa, Middlesbrough and Wolves, has made 262 Premier League appearances and scored 14 goals. He has also earned eight caps for Spain.

“I love the challenges,” Traore said. “We have to go game by game, trying to do our best. Everything comes from belief, and I believe we’re going to achieve what we’re looking for.”

Nuno Espirito Santo welcomed the arrival, highlighting Traore’s experience and character.

“Adama knows the Premier League very well, and his qualities, both as a player and a person, will help us between now and the end of the season,” the manager said. “He will bring energy, commitment and determination to our challenge.”

West Ham are currently third from bottom of the Premier League, five points from safety, but have won their last two matches against Tottenham and Sunderland.

The club has also strengthened earlier this month by signing forwards Pablo Felipe and Taty Castellanos.
