According to BBC football journalist Nizaar Kinsella, Coventry are aiming to conclude the deal before the current transfer window closes.

The 28-year-old Nigeria international has struggled for regular playing time at Brentford this season, making nine appearances across all competitions and yet to start a Premier League game.

Onyeka is eager for more consistent minutes on the pitch, prompting his desire to move elsewhere. Brentford are said to be open to either a permanent transfer or a loan move.
