Xavi Rules Out Messi Return, saying Barcelona president Laporta does not want the superstar back at Camp Nou

Former Xavi Hernandez has confirmed that Lionel Messi will not return to Barcelona.

Speaking to La Vanguardia, Xavi said the club’s president, Joan Laporta, does not want Messi back at the Camp Nou.

“Leo Messi is never coming back to Barcelona, because Laporta doesn’t want that,” Xavi stated.

He also clarified that neither LaLiga nor Messi’s camp blocked a possible return, adding that financial demands were not an issue.

Messi departed Barcelona in August 2021 as a free agent after contract extension talks failed.

He subsequently joined Paris Saint-Germain and later moved to Inter Miami CF in Major League Soccer.
