Kemity opens up on single motherhood, revealing how loss, love and heartbreak shaped her life as a mum of two children with different fathers

Kemity, Popularly kwown as Nollywood actress Kemisola Apesin, has shared the deeply personal story behind her journey as a single mother of two children with different fathers.

In a revealing interview on Talk To B, the actress addressed the judgement she often receives online and explained that her life choices were shaped by tragedy, not recklessness.

“I have two children for two different fathers,” she said.

“The person I gave birth to my first child for was the one who disvirgined me and that was how I got pregnant. I was about to write my WAEC at the time.”

Kemity said her mother supported her through the early challenges and made it clear that education must remain a priority.

She was encouraged to learn catering and finish her studies while keeping contact with her child’s father, who later travelled to Malaysia.

Years later, when he returned to Nigeria, tragedy struck.

“When he got back to Nigeria, he was killed in a hotel,” she revealed.

“He did not inform anyone, not even me. It was someone who called my mum to tell her he was back. It was obvious he was robbed. That was how I became a widow.”

Kemity explained that the pain of losing her first love was followed by further heartbreak after marrying her second partner.

She said the relationship, which was formalised through a court wedding, collapsed due to repeated infidelity.

“When the issue of extramarital affairs came up, I was already living with him,” she said.

“I started noticing he was acting strangely, making long midnight calls and claiming it was his boss. But I knew it was a woman.”

Despite juggling motherhood and teaching while he worked at a fuel station, Kemity said the emotional neglect became unbearable.

“You know we all have our limits, and when I got to mine, I told him,” she added.

Now a proud single mother, Kemity said she is often misunderstood online by people who know nothing of her grief or the battles she has faced.

“Many people come online saying how can I have two children for two different fathers, they do not even know my story,” she said.

“Nobody prays to have children for different fathers. That is why I tell people that I am a widow and it was not because I was divorced.”
