However, Gyan moved swiftly to debunk the claims, writing on X (formerly Twitter):

“Fabricated quotes attributed to me about Victor Osimhen have gone viral. I never granted any interview about Nigeria. The last AFCON game vs Cameroon was the last time I spoke about Osimhen’s talent. Don’t spread FAKE news.”

He also revealed he had personally spoken with Osimhen and wished him a full recovery.

“I had a great chat with my brother @VictorOsimhen9 on the phone earlier today. Once again, I wish you a full and speedy recovery.”

The Osimhen injury update comes as a boost for Galatasaray, who had previously admitted concerns over the striker’s international duty schedule.

His return is now expected to fortify the squad ahead of key domestic and European fixtures.
