Raphael Onyedika Club Brugge transfer talks are expected to reignite in January, with the Belgian side reportedly ready to sanction a move after blocking a summer exit for the Nigerian midfielder.

PUNCH Sports Extra reports that Club Brugge are now open to entertaining firm offers for the 24-year-old, who had attracted interest from Eintracht Frankfurt, West Ham United, Sevilla, and Galatasaray before the 2025/26 season began.

Frankfurt were believed to be the most advanced in negotiations, but no formal bids were made, and Onyedika remained at the Jan Breydelstadion.

Reports from Belgian daily Het Nieuwsblad suggest the club will not stand in the player’s way if he indicates a clear desire to leave in the upcoming transfer window.

Brugge had taken a similar stance last season, allowing Andreas Skov Olsen to depart once a suitable offer came in.

Despite the disappointment of a missed move, Onyedika has responded with professionalism and strong performances both domestically and in Europe.

Unlike the previous season—when transfer uncertainty impacted his form—the Nigerian international has stayed focused and consistent.

Internal sources at the club have described him as a “model for the rest of our squad”, according to Voetbalprimeur, while his captain praised his composure on the pitch.

“I am a huge fan of Rapha. You can always give him the ball,” the skipper said. “I’m really happy he stayed because he is very important for us.”

Onyedika’s impact has only grown this season. His partnership with Aleksandar Stankovic has allowed him to push forward with greater freedom, earning him man-of-the-match honours in the 2–0 win over Sint-Truiden.

This standout performance followed a brief touchline incident in the Champions League against Monaco, when he showed frustration at being substituted.

However, head coach Nicky Hayen downplayed the moment, calling it a “miscommunication”.

“That incident was soon forgotten,” Hayen told Het Nieuwsblad.

“He played an outstanding game against Monaco and even scored. We talked and concluded it was a misunderstanding. That is Onyedika—he is a down-to-earth lad.”

With the January window approaching, a move for Onyedika seems increasingly likely if the right conditions are met.
