APC Kaduna Rally attracts top defectors as Governor Uba Sani, Nentawe Yilwatda, and Abbas Tajudeen vow unity and 2027 dominance

APC Kaduna Rally on Saturday drew thousands of supporters and high-profile defectors to Murtala Square, Kaduna, signalling a renewed surge of strength for the ruling party ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The event, described by organisers as a victory march, was led by Governor Uba Sani, Speaker of the House of Representatives Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, and APC National Chairman Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda. The trio hailed the massive turnout as proof of the party’s dominance and unity across Kaduna State.

The rally was a colourful spectacle. Party flags, banners, and chants of “APC! Next Level!” filled the air as thousands of members and supporters celebrated what leaders called a historic moment for political realignment in the North.

Among the notable defectors were former Kaduna State Governor Ramalan Yero, Senators Shehu Sani, Andrew Malar, and Suleiman Hunkuyi, alongside several federal lawmakers and ex-PDP stalwarts.

Former PDP Secretary in Kaduna, Hon. Saidu Adamu, and members of the 8th State House of Assembly also joined the APC fold.

Governor Uba Sani declared that the influx of opposition figures into the APC Kaduna Rally reflected confidence in the state’s inclusive governance and the party’s performance-driven leadership.

He said, “In APC Kaduna, we are one family. Everyone has the same privilege and the same opportunity. Since we assumed office, there has been no single ethno-religious crisis. That peace is a product of fairness, justice, and inclusiveness.”

The governor credited President Bola Tinubu’s reform agenda — including subsidy removal and tax restructuring — for restoring investor confidence and accelerating development in Kaduna.

“Everything we’ve achieved here stems from President Tinubu’s leadership. Kaduna has opened up for business and progress because we are aligned with his vision,” he said, pledging that the APC would secure 95 percent of votes in 2027.

APC National Chairman Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda described the rally as a strategic moment for the party. “What we are witnessing today is more than a rally; it’s the start of a movement. Kaduna is showing the nation that the APC remains the party of progress and unity,” he said.

House Speaker Abbas Tajudeen praised Governor Sani’s leadership, noting that his administration had turned Kaduna into a reference point for peace, inclusivity, and development in Northern Nigeria.

Also present were the Speaker of the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Hon. Yusuf Liman; Minister of Environment, Malam Balarabe Abbas; members of the APC National Working Committee; and senior party stalwarts.

Governor Sani ended on a unifying note: “Our politics must be about the people. Kaduna APC is stronger, united, and ready for the future.”
