JMG solar donation brings 24-hour power to Ketu Primary Healthcare Centre in Lagos, boosting service delivery and promoting a greener environment

JMG solar donation has brought new light to Lagos State’s healthcare sector, as JMG Limited, a leading electro-mechanical solutions provider, donated a 10-kilowatt solar power system to the Ketu Primary Healthcare Centre in Agboyi-Ketu Local Council Development Area.

The system, unveiled on Wednesday, is designed to provide uninterrupted, round-the-clock electricity to the centre.

Rabi Jammal, Group General Manager of JMG Limited, said the initiative aligns with the company’s corporate social responsibility agenda and its commitment to health and environmental sustainability.

“Reliable power is a right, not a privilege,” Jammal said. “This project reflects our commitment to a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable future. It renews our mission to light up lives and power communities.”

The Chairman of the Agboyi-Ketu LCDA, Adetola Abubakar, praised the gesture, describing it as a lifesaving intervention for residents.

She noted that the solar power system would eliminate power disruptions during critical medical procedures such as childbirth and surgical operations.

“There shall be no more power outages during childbirth, especially for C-sections,” she said. “The solar system will ensure smooth running of medical equipment and guarantee world-class services for our people.”

The Lagos State Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, represented by Dr Sanuth Hassan, commended the donation, saying it complements the state government’s drive toward a cleaner and more sustainable energy future.

He called on private organisations to emulate JMG’s example in supporting local communities.

Also speaking, Francis Meshioye, Executive Director of JMG and President of the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria, said the initiative underscores JMG’s belief that a healthier population contributes to national productivity.

The Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Health District II, Dr Dayo Olajide, described the solar installation as a “game changer” for both patients and healthcare workers, ensuring reliable power for essential services.

With this JMG solar donation, the Ketu Primary Healthcare Centre joins a growing list of public facilities in Lagos transitioning to renewable energy — a move that promises cleaner, safer, and more efficient healthcare delivery.
