First Lady Kebbi School Attack: Oluremi Tinubu condemns abduction, honours victims, and calls for collaborative community support initiatives

The First Lady Kebbi School Attack response took centre stage on Tuesday as Sen. Oluremi Tinubu strongly condemned the abduction of 25 students from Government Girls Comprehensive Senior Secondary School, Maga, in Kebbi State.

During a visit to the State House, Abuja, she requested a minute of silence to honour the late Vice Principal and the victims of the tragic incident.

The First Lady received the Wives of Service Chiefs, including Mrs Sefiyan Shuaibu, Mrs Ngozi Aneke, Mrs Aishatu Abass, and Mrs Elizabeth Egbetokun, representing the Army, Air Force, Navy, and Police Officers’ Wives Associations.

Tinubu praised the new service chiefs for ensuring national security and lauded their spouses for supporting them while contributing to community welfare across Nigeria.

She encouraged the visiting wives to collaborate with her office, citing her past successful partnership with former Service Chiefs’ spouses in supporting widows, veterans, and other vulnerable groups.

Tinubu also acknowledged the challenges faced by security personnel in Kebbi, commending their commitment despite personal risks.

The First Lady highlighted upcoming holiday season initiatives under her NGO, Renewed Hope Initiative, including financial support for persons with disabilities on December 3 and assistance for the elderly on December 16.

She revealed that N100 million has been budgeted to aid vulnerable groups and encouraged service chiefs’ wives to expand similar community empowerment programmes nationwide.

Mrs Elizabeth Egbetokun, leading the visiting wives, thanked Tinubu for her guidance and empowerment initiatives, emphasising programmes for widows, skill development, scholarships, and yearly support for the elderly.

The group pledged to continue learning under the First Lady’s leadership and to sustain collaborative efforts that promote women’s empowerment, community welfare, and national peace.
