NYSC has announced January 21, 2026, as the start date for Batch A Stream I orientation nationwide

The National Youth Service Corps has confirmed the start of the 2026 Batch ‘A’ Stream I orientation exercise.

The programme will commence nationwide on Wednesday, January 21, 2026.

NYSC disclosed this in a statement shared on its official X platform on Tuesday.

The scheme said the exercise will hold simultaneously across all 37 orientation camps nationwide.

According to the statement, registration for prospective corps members will begin on the first day of camp.

Registration will run from Wednesday, January 21, to midnight on Friday, January 23, 2026.

“Camp registration for all corps members will take place from Wednesday, 21st to midnight of Friday, 23rd January, 2026,” the statement read.

The NYSC added that the swearing-in ceremony will follow registration on Friday, January 23, 2026.

It also announced that the orientation exercise will officially end on Tuesday, February 10, 2026.

In a goodwill message, the Director-General of NYSC, Brigadier General Olakunle Nafiu, advised corps members to prioritise safety.

He warned participants against travelling at night to their assigned states.

NYSC management urged corps members to comply strictly with the orientation timetable.

The scheme said adherence to the schedule is vital for the smooth conduct of the programme nationwide.
