In a statement signed by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, CAN said the season presents an opportunity for reflection on the state of the nation and the responsibilities of citizens and leaders in shaping Nigeria’s future.

“Nigeria is passing through a challenging period. Many households are struggling with the rising cost of living, uncertain job opportunities, and daily economic pressures,” the statement noted.

“In several parts of the country, security concerns continue to affect communities and test the confidence of citizens.”

The association urged leaders at all levels to move beyond policy drafting and prioritise effective implementation that brings tangible benefits to citizens.

CAN also stressed the importance of inclusiveness in governance, ensuring government programmes reach households, young people, and communities for whom they are intended.

Addressing citizens, CAN cautioned against division, misinformation, and violence, encouraging Nigerians to embrace unity across faiths, ethnicities, and cultures.
