Inter Milan will trigger a €15m buy clause to sign Manuel Akanji permanently from Manchester City after winning the Serie A title

Inter Milan have activated an automatic €15 million buy clause to sign defender Manuel Akanji on a permanent basis following their Serie A triumph.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed the development on X, noting that the obligation to buy has been triggered after Inter secured the league title.

The defender will now complete a permanent switch from Manchester City, bringing an end to his temporary spell and making the move fully official.

The agreement had been structured with a conditional purchase clause, which became active once Inter achieved specific sporting success, including winning the league title.

Akanji’s consistency and defensive contributions were key factors in Inter’s successful campaign, helping the club secure domestic honours ahead of their rivals.
