Yohanna’s move marks a rapid rise for the 18-year-old, who left Ikon Allah Football Academy in Kaduna for Sweden just over a year ago and has since impressed with strong performances and nine goal contributions in 12 appearances for AIK this season.

Speaking about the club’s newest signing, Hürzeler praised the youngster’s attacking ability and impact in the final third.

“I’m looking forward to working with Zadok,” the German coach told BBC Sport. “Having seen his games and his attributes, he is a player who can impact games in the final third.”

Hürzeler also stressed the need for patience as the teenager adapts to life in England and the demands of the Premier League.

“He’s still young and will need time to adapt to the club and the Premier League, but he’s an exciting player to watch, and he brings the kind of creativity we know our fans will enjoy,” he added.

Yohanna is expected to join his new teammates during pre-season preparations as Brighton gear up for the 2026/27 campaign, which will also include participation in the UEFA Conference League.
