Chukwueze is reportedly keen to remain at San Siro and compete for his place in the squad despite recent transfer speculation linking him with a move away from the Italian giants.

The 26-year-old was involved in discussions between Milan and Trabzonspor, but the Nigerian forward was not interested in joining the Turkish club. Milan also rejected a reported €15 million offer from Trabzonspor for his services.

The winger returned to Milan after spending last season on loan at Fulham, with the Premier League club deciding not to activate the €26 million purchase option included in the agreement.

During his time at Fulham, Chukwueze contributed three goals and four assists in 23 league appearances, developing a productive partnership with fellow Nigerians Alex Iwobi and Calvin Bassey.

His return comes at a significant moment for Milan, with Amorim expected to influence the club’s transfer decisions after taking charge. The Portuguese coach will assess the current squad before determining which players fit into his tactical plans.

Reports from Football Italia indicate that Milan are still targeting further reinforcements after committing more than €100 million to early summer signings, including defensive additions. The club are also exploring options in attack as uncertainty continues around the future of winger Rafael Leão.

However, Chukwueze has not been identified among the leading candidates to leave, offering the Nigerian a potential route back into the first-team picture.

A strong pre-season performance could prove decisive for the former Villarreal player, who joined Milan in 2023 with high expectations after impressing in Spain.

The winger’s pace, direct running and ability to create chances remain qualities that could suit Amorim’s attacking approach.

With Nigeria’s upcoming international commitments also in view, regular playing time at club level will be important for Chukwueze as he looks to maintain his place among the country’s leading attacking options.
