Flourish Sabastine joins Benfica on a three-year deal after leaving Fenerbahçe, continuing her European career with Portuguese champions

Flourish Chioma Sabastine, former Nigeria Falconets winger, has joined Portuguese women’s champions Benfica on a three-year contract, marking another step in her growing European football career.

Benfica confirmed the signing of the versatile 21-year-old forward after Sabastine became available following the expiration of her contract with Turkish champions Fenerbahçe at the end of last season.

The Portuguese club also secured an option to extend the agreement for an additional season, providing further continuity as Benfica strengthen their squad ahead of the new campaign.

The move sees the Nigerian winger continue her journey across European football after previous spells with Fenerbahçe, Stade Reims and Galatasaray.

Before moving abroad, Sabastine established herself in the Nigerian domestic league with Bayelsa Queens, where she won three Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) titles.

Sabastine has also represented Nigeria on the international stage, featuring for the Falconets at the 2022 and 2024 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cups.
