In a heartfelt video shared on his Instagram page on Thursday, AY said many Nigerians are being misled by what they see on social platforms, explaining that much of the glamour portrayed online is carefully staged and far from reality.

According to AY, social media has become a stage of illusions, where borrowed clothes, rented cars, and hotel lobbies are often disguised as symbols of wealth and success.

He urged his fans to avoid being drawn into this web of comparison and to instead focus on personal growth and genuine happiness.

“Many of these celebrities you envy are living on borrowed wigs, borrowed outfits, and borrowed lifestyles,” he said. “Some take pictures in hotel lobbies and call them their new homes, while others pose with cars that don’t belong to them.

Social media is like a movie set; not everything you see online is real.”

The actor likened the digital world to a movie scene, reminding his followers that what appears glamorous online often hides real-life struggles and imperfections.

He encouraged Nigerians to embrace authenticity and simplicity, stressing that contentment brings more peace than comparison.

AY concluded by advising his followers to “grow at their own pace,” remain true to themselves, and prioritise self-worth over virtual validation.
