The revelation came via a post on X by football journalist Fabrizio Romano on Tuesday.

“If Florentino is still there, it could happen. I could never say no to Pérez,” Benzema said. “I’m a Madridista. I feel it in my soul. Madrid is still my city. We’ll see what happens.”

Benzema, whose Al Ittihad contract runs until June 2026, emphasised that his next move remains uncertain. “I don’t know if I’ll leave Al Ittihad or stay.

It depends on many factors… let’s see what happens,” he added.

The French forward, who scored over 300 goals for Real Madrid and played a pivotal role in multiple Champions League and La Liga triumphs, remains a revered figure among Los Blancos supporters.

His comments have reignited speculation over a potential return to the club where he made his most iconic contributions.

In addition to reflecting on his own future, Benzema called for fairness in the ongoing scrutiny of Brazilian star Vinícius Júnior. “Don’t forget what Vini Jr did for Real Madrid, it’d be not fair at all.

He’s a very good kid, with a big heart, who wants to learn, he’s phenomenal,” he said. “People put a lot of pressure on him. He can do more, but you can’t say he’s bad now.”

Vinícius, widely recognised as one of Real Madrid’s most decisive attacking talents in recent seasons, has faced heightened public scrutiny amid some inconsistent performances.

Despite this, the club remains confident in his ability to influence games and drive the team forward.
