Blaqbonez weight loss has sparked a wave of concern online, prompting the Nigerian rapper to address fans directly about his noticeably leaner appearance.

The conversation began when fans noticed a recent photo of the artist wearing a British-inspired outfit  turtleneck, shirt, skirt, and dreadlocked hair  looking visibly thinner.

One fan bluntly asked, “You’re dying bro,” while another wondered if he was “losing his life.”

Taking to X, Emeka Akumefule, known as Blaqbonez, clarified the situation, revealing the reason behind his drastic weight drop.

“My problem is I only like Nigerian food, so whenever I leave the country, I struggle to eat,” he explained.

The rapper, who’s been touring and finalizing his new album for nearly two months, admitted that his intense schedule and lack of familiar food have taken a toll on his appetite and energy levels.

“I’ve been on the road for almost two months, barely eating, cos I want to give you guys the best album experience ever. I’ll add some weight soon. No excuses.”

Despite the physical toll, Blaqbonez assured fans he’s healthy and still pushing hard to deliver what he calls his best music project yet.

Known for his witty style and bold artistic choices, Blaqbonez made waves with ‘Sex Over Love’ (2021) and ‘Emeka Must Shine’ (2023), the latter earning him a spot on Rolling Stone’s “50 Innovators Shaping Rap’s Future”.
