Manchester United are preparing to officially confirm the signing of Colombian midfielder Cristian Orozco, with the teenager expected to complete his move to Old Trafford after turning 18.

According to reports from the Daily Express, the Premier League club reached a pre-contract agreement with Orozco in September 2025, with the deal dependent on the player reaching the required age before the transfer could be finalised.

Orozco celebrates his 18th birthday on Monday, allowing Manchester United to proceed with the completion and announcement of the move.

The Colombian central midfielder is regarded as a long-term addition to United’s squad as the club continues to invest in young talent. His arrival forms part of the wider rebuilding plans under new manager Michael Carrick, who is preparing for his first full season in charge.

Manchester United are also working towards completing deals for midfielder Andrey Santos and goalkeeper Karl Darlow as Carrick looks to strengthen his options ahead of the new campaign.

However, the club’s attempt to sign Atalanta midfielder Ederson has reportedly fallen through after concerns emerged during the medical process.

Orozco’s arrival highlights United’s continued focus on securing promising players with future potential, while the club balances immediate squad improvements with long-term development plans.
