An inspection tour led by Nura Ma’aji Sumaila, Commissioner for Public Procurement, Project Monitoring and Evaluation, revealed dissatisfaction with the pace, quality, and overall standard of work at the project site.

Multiple warnings had previously been issued to the contractor to accelerate progress and comply with the agreed specifications.

“Despite repeated directives and monitoring visits, the contractor failed to demonstrate meaningful progress, compelling the government to terminate the agreement,” Sumaila said.

The commissioner emphasised that the revocation was necessary to protect public interest, ensure accountability, and safeguard transparency and value for money in the execution of state infrastructure projects.

Sagiru Ado Abubakar, Information Officer with the ministry, confirmed the development in a statement, assuring that the administration remains committed to completing the road to improve connectivity and benefit residents of Doguwa and surrounding communities.
