Nicknamed “The Panther,” the Benin Republic fighter claimed the first-ever lightweight belt at the African Knockout Championship, founded by rising UFC legend Karamu Usman.

The event took place at the Velodrome of the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja, drawing a vibrant crowd and dignitaries including National Sports Commission Chairman Shehu Dikko.

Despite Baba Jibril—also known as Black Venom—displaying confidence during the weigh-in, he was stunned in the cage. Dos Santos landed a clean strike that forced a swift referee stoppage, notching his second career win over Jibril.

Chairman Shehu Dikko commended the championship’s organization and impact, saying it offers a powerful platform for African talents to shine globally.

“This is only the beginning,” Dikko noted. “The African Knockout Challenge has the potential to elevate African fighters and put the continent on the global MMA map.”
