The programme, described as the Renewed Hope Super Empowerment, saw 500 beneficiaries receive N100,000 each, while thousands of others were supported with trade tools, business equipment, and social interventions.

Speaking at the event, Kasunmu said the Kasunmu empowerment programme reflects his commitment to prioritising the economic wellbeing of his constituents.

“It is not just an event but a demonstration of our belief that a people’s representative must be people-centred, impacting their lives positively,” he said.

Items distributed included generators, laptops, buses, POS machines, solar power systems, and vocational tools such as barbing and hairdressing kits.

Market women received deep freezers, while security formations were provided with generators and fans to support their operations.

The lawmaker also announced his intention to seek a fourth term in office, citing the importance of legislative experience and continuity. He said his ambition was driven by a desire to deepen development efforts in the constituency.

Kasunmu linked the initiative to the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu, noting that the programme aligns with broader efforts to promote shared prosperity and grassroots development.

Community leaders commended the initiative, with Ikeja apex leader Mayegun Adeogun describing it as impactful and urging beneficiaries to utilise the items productively.

One of the beneficiaries, a baker identified as Fabola Olabisi, expressed appreciation after receiving a solar-powered generator, describing it as a critical support she could not have afforded independently.
