Lagos free software quality assurance training empowers 600 students and graduates with digital skills through Governor Sanwo-Olu’s youth-focused initiative

Lagos free software quality assurance training has kicked off across three centres in the state, targeting 600 students and recent graduates with vital digital skills.

The programme, a collaborative effort between the Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Students Union Affairs (Tertiary Education) and Korrekt Tech, aims to equip young Lagosians with in-demand knowledge in software quality assurance — a rapidly growing field in tech.

Held simultaneously at Lagos State University of Science and Technology (Ikorodu), Lagos State University of Education (Otto/Ijanikin), and Lagos State College of Health Technology (Yaba), the training runs for three consecutive Saturdays, starting 11 October, from 9 am to 2 pm each day.

According to the Senior Special Assistant, Kappo Samuel, the training is a bold demonstration of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s THEMES+ Agenda, with its strong focus on education, technology, and youth empowerment.

“This is more than a training — it’s a launchpad to tech excellence. It’s one of the many ways Governor Sanwo-Olu is preparing youths for the future,” said Kappo.

He highlighted the growing global shift towards technology and the importance of equipping Lagos youths with skills that ensure they’re not left behind.

The initiative has received enthusiastic interest, with registration numbers exceeding expectations.

Though not all could be accommodated in this phase, Kappo assured that similar programmes are forthcoming.

He praised Korrekt Tech and its lead team, headed by Ridwan Abdulazeez, along with a lineup of seasoned professionals including Basirat Aboyeji, Adenike Olapetan, Ankoh Idoreyin, Godspower Osayomwanbor, and others, for their hands-on commitment to youth development.

Participants are expected to gain practical insight into digital product testing, quality control, and tech-based service delivery — skills essential in today’s tech-driven economy.
