Leeds secure a comeback draw at Chelsea after Cole Palmer’s brace, with late goals from Nmecha and Okafor sealing a dramatic point

Leeds United produced a dramatic Leeds comeback draw on Tuesday night, fighting back from two goals down to hold Chelsea to a 2–2 result at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea looked in complete control early on, with Cole Palmer orchestrating the hosts’ attack and setting the tempo.

Cole Palmer opened the scoring in the 24th minute with a delicate chipped finish after spotting Leeds goalkeeper Karl Darlow off his line.

Cole Palmer doubled the advantage in the 58th minute, calmly converting from the penalty spot after sustained Chelsea pressure.

Chelsea dominated possession and created several chances, with João Pedro and Enzo Fernández both going close as the home side sought to put the game beyond reach.

Leeds, however, showed resilience. A clumsy challenge by Moisés Caicedo handed the visitors an opportunity to respond, and Lukas Nmecha converted the resulting penalty in the 67th minute, sending Robert Sánchez the wrong way.

The goal lifted Leeds, who pressed forward with renewed belief. The pressure told in the 73rd minute when a goalmouth scramble exposed Chelsea’s defence, allowing Noah Okafor to tap into an empty net for the equaliser.

Chelsea pushed for a winner late on. Cole Palmer fired over from close range in stoppage time, while crosses from Neto repeatedly threatened the Leeds penalty area.

Leeds held firm to secure a hard-earned point, leaving Chelsea to rue missed chances after surrendering a two-goal lead and failing to climb into third place in the Premier League.
