Marcus Rashford has said he is enjoying his football at Barcelona and is open to a permanent move, as the La Liga champions consider activating a £28 million option to buy from Manchester United.

The 27-year-old forward, who joined Barça on loan in July, has rediscovered his form under Xavi Hernández and appears to be thriving in Spain. Speaking to ESPN, Rashford described his experience at Camp Nou as “an honour” and said the atmosphere at the club has reignited his love for the game.

“I’m enjoying this football club, and I think for anybody who loves football, Barcelona is one of the key clubs in the history of the game,” he said. “For a player, it is an honour.”

When asked whether he wanted to stay in Spain, Rashford replied without hesitation: “For sure.”

Despite being contracted to Manchester United until 2028, Rashford’s future at Old Trafford looks uncertain, with reports suggesting he does not feature in manager Rúben Amorim’s long-term plans.

Barcelona’s deal includes an option to sign him permanently for £28 million, a reduced figure compared to the £40 million United are reportedly demanding from other potential suitors.

Rashford has scored five goals in 12 appearances for Barcelona so far, including a brace against Olympiakos in the Champions League earlier this week.

The England international, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Aston Villa, credited the move abroad with helping him rediscover his rhythm and confidence.

“People forget this, but 23 years of my life was with Manchester United,” Rashford said. “Sometimes you just need a change. I think maybe this is the case with me, and I’m enjoying everything.”
