Oshoala scores her sixth goal of the season as Al Hilal defeat Eastern Flames 2–0 in the Saudi Women’s Premier League

Super Falcons forward Asisat Oshoala continued her impressive scoring run on Thursday, netting her sixth goal of the season to help Al Hilal secure a 2–0 victory over Eastern Flames in the Saudi Women’s Premier League.

The Nigerian forward broke the deadlock in the 43rd minute, reacting quickest to a spilled effort inside the box to hand Al Hilal a deserved first-half lead.

The advantage was doubled in the 62nd minute when Al Bandari Mobarak finished off a sweeping move to seal the points.

Despite the win, Al Hilal remain second in the standings with 15 points from seven matches, three points behind leaders Al Nassr, who maintain a perfect record and still boast a game in hand.

Eastern Flames’ struggles continued, with the defeat leaving them without a point after seven league outings.

Al Hilal return to action on 29 January 2026 against Al Qadsiah, while Eastern Flames face a stern test the following day when they meet high-flying Al Nassr.

Oshoala’s latest strike brings her tally to six goals in seven appearances, placing her third in the league’s scoring chart behind Clara Luvanga (11) and Adriana (10).

The 30-year-old joined Al Hilal from National Women’s Soccer League side Bay FC in September, after scoring eight goals in 38 appearances for the American club.

Before her move to the US, she enjoyed a trophy-laden six-year spell at Barcelona, where she made 162 appearances and scored 117 goals, including a record-equalling 19-goal league season in 2022.

A two-time Ballon d’Or nominee and six-time CAF Women’s Player of the Year, Oshoala remains the first African woman to win the UEFA Women’s Champions League (2021) and the first to score in a Champions League final (2019).
