Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen, currently at Galatasaray, is expected to announce his next club in April, with Premier League giants keen on the Victor Osimhen transfer April decision

Amidst swirling rumours regarding his future, Nigerian international and Napoli striker Victor Osimhen is widely anticipated to reveal the club he will be joining this summer, with the announcement likely to occur this April.

Osimhen, who is currently showcasing his talents on loan at Turkish side Galatasaray, is poised to depart Napoli permanently at the conclusion of the ongoing season.

A host of Premier League teams, including Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal, and Newcastle, are reportedly closely monitoring the prolific forward. Osimhen himself has openly stated his ambition to play in the English top flight.

Italian Serie A club Juventus are also understood to be keeping a watchful eye on the 26-year-old striker as he prepares for what could be one of the most significant transfers of the summer window.

Osimhen has been in sensational form during his loan spell in Turkey, having netted an impressive 28 goals in 32 appearances for Galatasaray.

His stellar performances have been instrumental in Galatasaray’s push for the Turkish Super Lig title, further enhancing his reputation among Europe’s elite clubs.

Despite his significant impact, Galatasaray’s hopes of securing his services on a permanent basis appear slim. The loan agreement with Napoli does not include an option to buy, and the Italian club are reportedly demanding a transfer fee in the region of £55.5 million for the sought-after striker.

Osimhen was instrumental in leading Napoli to their historic Serie A triumph in 2023. However, his relationship with the Italian club has reportedly deteriorated since then, making Napoli keen to capitalise on his value during the upcoming transfer window.

While Galatasaray would ideally like to keep Osimhen, the club’s vice president, Abdullah Kavukcu, has acknowledged that they may be outmanoeuvred by wealthier suitors.

“Osimhen will announce his decision in April. At the moment, five of the world’s top clubs are interested in him,” Kavukcu stated, as quoted by the Mirror. “His arrival here was a dream—he came, and for now, he is playing with us. In January, there was talk of a transfer, but he stayed.”

Kavukcu also noted Osimhen’s affection for Galatasaray, adding, “He loves Galatasaray very much. Right now, he is the dream of all our rivals. Although we are focused on winning the title, we have not had direct discussions with Victor yet. His stay at Galatasaray is not as impossible as it may seem.”

Despite the widespread admiration for Osimhen across Europe, his anticipated wage demands could present a significant obstacle to any potential transfer.

Reports suggest that the Nigerian forward is seeking a salary in the vicinity of £9 million per year – a figure that may exceed what Manchester United and other interested clubs are willing to offer.
