The visit coincided with Otti’s birthday.

Osinbajo expressed admiration for tangible improvements in the state, highlighting the governor’s social welfare reforms, including his assent to the Senior Citizens’ Law.

“I am extremely proud of the work you have done so far. You have lived up to expectations not only to the people but also to your friends and associates. In the short time I have been here, I have seen tangible evidence of progress,” Osinbajo said.

The former Vice President also praised Otti’s extensive road infrastructure projects and improved connectivity, describing them as visible symbols of results-driven leadership.

He emphasised that true distinction in public office is measured by delivery and making a meaningful difference in the lives of citizens.

“Sometimes you wonder whether, after all the efforts to get into office, leaders are able to fulfil their promises. But in your case, you have done not just what you promised, but even more. You have made public service worthwhile,” Osinbajo added.

Governor Otti welcomed Osinbajo, describing him as a brother, friend, and mentor.

Clarifying that the gathering was not a formal birthday celebration, Otti expressed gratitude to well-wishers and reaffirmed his commitment to service over ceremony.

“Governance is about the people their welfare, their safety, and their peace of mind. If you enter office for any other reason, you miss the essence of leadership,” Otti said, recalling decisive actions taken in the administration’s first month to restore security in previously inaccessible communities.

He also commended security agencies for maintaining peace across the state.

The Secretary to the State Government, Dr Emmanuel Meribole, on behalf of the State Executive Council, extended birthday wishes and prayers for continued strength and productive years ahead.
