Rafiu Durosinmi transfer talks begin as Belgian club Genk target the Nigerian striker with a €10m offer after Pisa’s Serie A relegation

KRC Genk have emerged as potential suitors for Nigerian striker Rafiu Durosinmi, with the Belgian Pro League club preparing a move for the forward after Pisa’s relegation from Serie A.

Durosinmi only joined Pisa from Czech side Viktoria Plzen in January, but his future has become uncertain following the Italian club’s drop from the top flight.

The 23-year-old is now attracting interest from Genk, who are looking to strengthen their attacking options ahead of the new season.

According to Belgian publication Het Nieuwsblad, Genk are willing to offer around €10 million for the Nigerian forward, a fee that would make him the most expensive signing in the club’s history if completed.

However, Pisa are reportedly seeking a slightly higher figure of €10.5 million before allowing Durosinmi to leave.

The potential Rafiu Durosinmi transfer has drawn attention because of Genk’s successful history with Nigerian strikers.

Super Eagles forwards Paul Onuachu and Tolu Arokodare both made significant contributions during their spells at the Cegeka Arena, building a strong reputation among supporters.

Durosinmi, who has earned recognition for his physical presence, finishing ability and attacking movement, could become the latest Nigerian forward to make an impact at the Belgian club if negotiations progress.

The striker previously impressed during his time in the Czech Republic with Viktoria Plzen, where his performances earned him a move to Italy.
